Amanda Alvarado Ford, Immigration Law Coordinating Attorney

Amanda received her A.B. from Stanford University in 1988, double major International Relations and Spanish Literature, and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1993.  After spending several years as a federal labor lawyer with the National Labor Relations Board in New York City, Newark N.J., and San Francisco, in Amanda Alvarado-Ford2006 she began working as an immigration lawyer in San Mateo, CA.  Her focus was representing Spanish speaking clients in removal proceedings.  She is a member of the New Jersey Bar and AILA, the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association. Amanda has worked as a Pro Bono Attorney in the Immigration Unit of LRCL since the summer of 2012.  While at La Raza, she has focused on cases involving Naturalization, Family Immigrant Visas and Consular Processing, DACA, and U Visas. In early 2014, she was honored as a “Pro Bono VIP” by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
