Susana Martinez
Susana was born and raised in El Salvador, but the hard economic and social conditions, forced her to migrate to the US in the summer of 2001. Being far away from her loved ones in a country with a totally different language and culture made her realize what it really means to be an immigrant. Susana was inspired to work at La Raza because of the organization's decades-long history supporting and defending the rights of one of the most discriminated and attacked communities--Latino immigrants. Susana also organizes Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES). She loves spending time with her 2 sisters, listening to all kinds of music and collecting stuffed animals.
