Housing Discrimination: Recent Cases
- An Urban County resident of Contra Costa County alleged their landlord of child discrimination. The allegation was appropriately documented and a complaint was filed with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
- This past fiscal year, a tenant who was inappropriately served was assisted with their response to an unlawful detainer (eviction) was successful in having the complaint dismissed due to a technicality.
- An extremely low-income tenant who is a single mother of two children and caretaker of a legally blind member of her household sought the assistance of La Raza Centro Legal about habitability issues and overpayment of utilities.
